We used Cooper Center in NJ. The have a donor embryo program and we were able to get embryos right away (we transferred in 2006). What clinic did you use? Would you recommend them?

I am using Fertility Associates of California (Dr. Kumar). They have an embryo donation program. So far I really like them alot. They have been very fast and kind.
We accepted our embryos just a week ago. We got them about 2 months after signing with the clinic. However we were not really specific on what characteristics or ethnicity we wanted so that's part of why we got ours pretty fast.

How exciting! Will you transfer soon?
We were similar to you in that we weren't picky about the ethnicity/features of our embryos. Our daughter is half Japanese, half Caucasian (we are Caucasian).

We used the NEDC, National Embryo Donation Center, in Knoxville, TN.
It's been a great experience--everyone there has been wonderful to work with.

Jennifer, I'm not sure when we will transfer. We are waiting for the contract to be signed right now. I'm hoping for an August transfer though.
We are caucasian and our embryos are Hispanic. My son is also Hispanic though. He was adopted from Guatemala.

NEDC would not even talk to me because of my age. I am commuteing from SW Ohio to Cooper in NJ. We also were not so particular. We got embryos on our first try, got our #10 pick. They are from a couple with Puerto Rican decent, Dh asked if we need to learn spanish lol. ;D

Parothead....NEDC has age restriction? Do you mind if I ask your age? I am 43 and our clinic didn't even care about age (but then again they love us...and they got us our son 2 years ago so that might have something to do with it). I would be kind of sad to hear there is age requirements (maybe not like 65 or something...but surely they wouldn't descriminate agains us 40-somethings...right?)

NEDC has a cutoff of 45 I think. I am probably the oldest woman on here at 51.

We started with NEDC and then switched to Snowflakes after our homestudy was done. We decided it was better for us to work with an agency that was literally a short drive away and a local clinic than fly all the way to TN (which would be expensive for us out in CA and also makes me nervous). We are going with Dr. Kumar as well and have been so incredibly happy with him so far. He explains everything so well and doesn't make me feel like a science experiment. For a very short window of time we were looking through Miracles Waiting but decided going it alone on our first adoption was not a good idea especially when we could not find a lawyer who was willing to work with us.

Parothead...good for you. There really should not be an age limit if you are healthy and capable of providing for these babies. Yay for you. I will be praying for successful transfer and pregnancy.

We used CNY Fertility in NY. We waited for their ED program to open for one year after our failled DE cycle. But once they openned we were first in line so got first pick at their selection. They get them again from time to time and they are free.

We used Miracles Waiting for our match and then transferred the embryos to our local clinic. We were successful with our first transfer, transferring two with one taking. We had our miracle in July 2009. We plan to use the remaining two embryos here in early 2011!
