My husband and I were fortunate to receive 10 embryos through donation. They are very high grade, and we are very appreciative. We did our first cycle in Aug '11, and unfortunately our results were BFN. Needless to say, we beyond heartbroken. We just started a new cycle today 9/28/11 with me starting lupron. I was just wondering if anyone had experienced a BFN with donor/adopted embryos and then went on to have a BFP? I really would love to hear your story. Thanks! Melissa

Hi Melissa, sorry about the terrible news.
We had a failed cycle when we did a donor egg cycle but with our donor embryos we were successful. I was wondering how many embryos you had to use for your cycle that might make a difference in a successful or loss.
We used 6 embryos to get only ONE baby. The clinic doctor thawed 3 and only one was good so they thawed another vile of 3 and they all survived. So out of 6 one died, one was bad and 4 were good and we got pregnant with only one baby.
So depending on your age make sure to transfer 4 embryos if you can.
Let me know how this cycle is going for you now? I pray you are successful this time.

Yes, twice! I have 2 boys through embryo adoption. With both, it was the second transfer that resulted in a pregnancy with live birth. FET 1 - BFN FET 2 - BFP! FET 3 - Chem pg/mc FET 4 - BFP!
