It might be helpful to those researching embryo donation/adoption to have a general idea of the costs associated with different clinics and agencies for embryo donation/adoption.
With every agency/clinic I know of, it is free for the donating family/individual. The costs are or the recipient family/individual.
So, please post a general idea of the cost for one donor cycle and the clinic/agency you used!

We used Cooper Center in New Jersey's Donor Embryo Program. The cost is about $4,000, travel included (you have to transfer at their clinic in NJ). You can view more on their program at www.ccivf.com/embryo_program.htmlThey do not require a home study and all donations are anonymous. You can add a letter to your file granting permission for the adopting or donating family to contact you if they ever want to.

We used our Fertility Clinic in Davis California www.californiaivf.com/nav/infertility_clinic_california_CA.htmThey have a small program using anonymously donated embryos from patients who have completed their family and have extra embryos. Our cost was about $5500 total.. no homestudy, just clinic fees, meds, storage and FET fees.

my last 2 donor embryo cycles were done at Bethesda in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have ins so it only cost me $167 plus some co pays for meds(around $50) Ohio only requires some consent forms notorized, no expensive "adoption legal fees" My next transfer will be in NJ as my clinics donor pool is empty. My biggest cost will be transportation as my ins will travel with me.

Mine was $3600 for the FET and $386 for the meds leading up to the transfer. Once I was pregnant we spent another $2000 on meds as our insurance did not cover the Estrace, PIO or a few others. We used the IVF Center of St. Louis but they are closing so these prices won't mean much anymore.

Our clinic quoted us about $5500 plus meds and local monitoring, some of which I'm hoping will be covered by insurance. *fingers crossed*

We started with NEDC and thus had Bethany Christian Services do our homestudy which was $2400 (plus about $2000 in medical fees, DMV fees, fingerprint fees, etc). Then we switched to Snowflakes and paid $5900 to be matched. Our FET doctor (at Fertility and Surgical Associates in CA) will most likely charge us what he has charged others for the FET $2200 plus $300-$500 in meds. If all goes well this month in getting our contract signed then we should have a transfer in late Sept or early Oct. Let's hope this works the first time!!!

We used the NEDC, which requires a homestudy. Bethany Christian Services did that part and we paid them a total of $1500. The NEDC fees came to $4412 (includes formal application, initial consult, program fee and transfer fees); then we paid $647.53 in fees associated w/ our specific embryos (to reimburse donors for storage/shipping/labs,etc.). We also had travel expenses for the mock transfer/initial consult and again for the actual transfer.

We used a clinic in DC. The doctor was great; however, the financial department was HORRIBLE! Our insurance covered half of the actual transfer procedure, but DC is expensive so it was about the same as what others are saying as their full amount. Our insurance covered all of my meds (I paid $5). Also, all of our testing before hand was all covered by insurance, minus copays. I'm now looking for another clinic with a program because I can't imagine using that clinic again. So sad.
