I'm Jen. I've been married to DH for 11 years and we have one son whom we adopted from Guatemala in 2003. We are in the process of adopting embryos. We have 16 embryos that were donated to us through our clinic.
We are very close to having everything done and are looking forward to our transfer.
Look forward to meeting others on here!
Jen

I'm April. I've been married to DH for 7 years. We are currently waiting to adopt our first child through a local religious-based agency, our profile is "in the book" for domestic infant adoption. We went through all the infertility treatments, and ultimately the doctors don't know why we can't conceive. There is no reason I cannot carry a child, so we are keeping our possibilities open for embryo adoption someday. Right now, I don't know of anyone in our state who has even pursued this option. So, I am excited to learn more. :-)
Nice to meet you! -April

Hi, I'm Anna. My DH and I have been TTC for 3+ years and are now hoping to find an embryo donor by the end of the year. We are both 27 and do not have any children as of yet. I am a kindergarten teacher and DH is an electrician.
We're on a waiting list through our RE clinic, however we'd really love to find a donor on our own so we don't have to wait so long!
I'm so excited to get to know some others who are going through embryo adoption!

We did our first embryo adoption in 2007 through the NEDC and we are on our 2nd attempt at number 2 (using the same batch of embryos). Our next transfer is scheduled for July 21st. We were donated 12 embryos and we have 6 left. If anyone is interested in following us: www.2ndembryoadoption.blogspot.comBest of luck to everyone!

Hi everyone. I'm Kim from CA. My husband and I are considering placing our embryos for adoption. Both my tubes were blocked and so we couldn't get pregnant. We did ivf in June 2008, but it failed. I then had to have surgery to remove the tubes. We did a fet Nov 1st, and it worked. In July we welcomed our miracle, a beautiful baby girl. She'll be 1 next month, wow how time has flown! We have 2 embryos still frozen from the June cycle. Plus, we are hoping to do aother fresh ivf cycle this year. we are planning on using the gender selection options available. I'm sure we'll have embryos left over from that cycle as well. Especially female ones.

Hi Everyone! I am Lacie and my DH and I have been married for TEN years (Oh my...) in September. We have been trying to have a baby forever, but, as it turns out, I pretty much look like an old lady on paper...NO EGGS! We were in the process to adopt from China and the wait just started becoming longer...and longer... We decided to give fertility treatments one last go and that's when we FINALLY (after 6 years and thankfully switching doctors) discovered what the issue was. SO, here we are! We adopted 22 (YES TWENTY-TWO) embryos from a family who used an egg donor. From what the doc says, this is wonderful because my embryos are healthy. We used the Snowflakes program through Nightlight for our adoption. Unfortunately my first transfer (in June) was not a success, but we are jumping right back in to the next cycle. We live in PA, not far from Philly. Please feel free to follow along on my blog at: funnylittlepollywogs.wordpress.com/~Lacie

Hello all...I am Karaleen. I have been married to my DH, Wes for almost 4 years. We met later in life and knew we would have challenges...he had a know male factor and I was already 37. We started trying to have a baby before we were even married and did get pregnant with identical twins through IUI at 38 yrs old but we lost those to m/c as they were conjoined at the head. We then married and continued our quest...after many more IUI's and two IVF's we were blessed with a baby boy in 2008. But by then I was 40. We wanted to grow our family but knew our chances were fading with every month that passed. We moved on to adoption and explored domestic and foster-adopt. These options required almost as much money and even more time than we had...we wanted our children close in age....so then we looked into embryo adoption. Our clinis had a small program and we were matched within a couple months. We adopted 5 embryos from a couple who used an egg donor...so super healthy young genetics. We thawed three and two were transferred in March. I am now 18 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. We are thrilled. Our family is complete so we donated the remaining embryos back to our clinic to give another family a chance.
I am so happy to have found this forum. I really needed to connect with more families that were grown or completed through embryo adoption. Having a biological child and an adopted child sometimes gives me anxiety because I don't want her to ever question her worth and place in our family. She is OURS...we love her already and don't ever want her to think we feel differently toward her versus her brother.
Anyway...long introduction...but you will find I am a bit verbose...tee hee.
So nice to meet you all and really hoping we can be of great support to each other in the coming months/years.

My husband was diagnosed in May 2009 with a low sperm count and we were told our only chances of having biological children was IVF with ICSI. Once we learned that adoption or IVF would cost a significant amount of money, we immediately pursued embryo adoption (we had heard of EA in 2006 and it had always been in the back of our minds) in June 2009. We were matched with 2 blastocyst babies last Friday and our FET is scheduled for July 20th at the NEDC. We are so excited and thankful to God for this wondering blessing! www.aaronandjennwilson.blogspot.com
